CAFE LIGHTS

The Café de Flore (French pronunciation: [kafe də flɔʁ]) is one of the oldest coffeehouses in Paris, France. It is located at the corner of Boulevard Saint-Germain and Rue Saint-Benoît, in Saint-Germain-des-Prés in the 6th arrondissement. The nearest underground station is Saint-Germain-des-Prés, served by line 4 of Paris Métro.

The coffeehouse still remains a popular hang-out spot for celebrities and its status attracts numerous tourists. The café was opened in the 1880s, during the Third Republic.

My fondness of night scenes, warm night lights, and inviting public places inspired me to paint this masterpiece.

This painting, with its romantic ambience, includes a waiter serving a couple having an intimate meal together on a small outside patio.

I’ve added warm light from inside the cafe, from the outside building light, and to the neighboring buildings and also included people strolling down the street.

The rose bushes and rose trees in pots, the moon and the night sky all add to the coziness and sense of well-being of this scene.

I can imagine being there and enjoying a good meal in the perfect company of my wife.

Originals are painted using high quality artist grade acrylic paint on double sided, tempered, masonite (hard board) which is very durable and, unlike canvas, will never stretch or flex and crack the paint.
